WATCH OUT FOR PHISHING EMAILS
We want to share a quick (and important) reminder to keep an eye out for scam emails making the rounds. Some of these messages may look like they’re coming from trusted volunteers, sometimes even appearing to be from our President, David Breech, but they’re actually fake.
Email scams are the worst, and a little awareness goes a long way in keeping our community safe.
A Few Easy Red Flags
Here are some things that should make you pause before clicking:
“Can you grab gift cards for me?”
Urgent requests for money or gift cards are a classic scam move.
Super urgent or dramatic tone
Messages that push you to act right now are often trying to rush you.
Weird email addresses
The name might look familiar, but the email behind it can be misspelled or from Gmail/Hotmail.
Requests for passwords or personal info
Our volunteers will never ask for sensitive info by email.
Random links or attachments
If you weren’t expecting it, don’t click it.
When in Doubt
If something feels even a little off:
Don’t reply.
Don’t click.
Reach out through our official website or known contacts to double-check.
Our volunteers are busy planning a fun season—not sending urgent gift card requests.
Thanks for helping keep our baseball family safe and informed!
